wickedful graphics
I have moved my art/graphics blog on to SharBar Art at blogspot. I'm not really sure why I moved. I just find blogspot more customizable and easier to use.

My community wickedful_x is still online though. I'm using that to post my icons and I will just link to it from my blogspot blog.

See you!

Yes ... It has been a while. The death of my grandmother has kept me busy being "semi"- mom for a couple of weeks; cooking dinner, taking care of my brother, planning/organizing (well attempted) his birthday party. So it's been a bittersweet couple of weeks having some freedom while my mother was away but at the same time dealing with a death in the family and having to take care of my family here as well.

So I haven't drawn as much as I really wanted to for a while because I just haven't found the time. I just sketch random things when I can but I haven't been able to produce anything final. There's one that I've drawn and inked so it's just dawned as lineart but I'm still deciding on how to colour the damn thing. I'm always worried about ruining it when I decide to not keep it as lineart. We'll see what happens.

There are a couple of things though that I have finished!

ENCHANTED
BLOCKED
MIDNIGHT GOWN

I have to say ... the scanner sometimes doesn't make the piece look as good as it really should. It doesn't pick up the colour well enough. Some art pieces are just better too look at on the sketchbook rather than on the computer. Oh well.

I still have to broaden my art skills so I'm gonna try to find some time to dedicate myself to learn how to paint. My boyfriend can teach me if we can find some time because I really really really want to learn how to paint!

NAME Moonlight
DREW WITH Outlined with Staedler fine-liners, Derwent Watercolor Pencils, Derwent Inktense Pencils, Laurentien pencils crayons.

That isn't my favourite drawing that I've done so far. It was not the background I wanted, the twines didn't turn out the way I wanted them too. I only thing that I actually like are the legs. It's expected because it's my first time using the specialty pencils with my colorless blender pen so it's my experimenting picture. I guess it's not that bad. It actually looks better on my sketchbook rather than seeing it as a picture online. For me that's strange. I'm so fucking happy though!! (Sorry ... I've been swearing a lot lately). I got my Prismacolor Pencils!!!!!! Let me tell you, they are fucking amazing. They ar so smooth and so nice when the color goes on the paper. Since the leads are so soft, you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want the color to do! The colors can blend so nicely with each other and they work wonders when I used my colorless blender pen (despite how shitty my blender pen is right now because of the above posted drawing). My goodness I love these pencils. Plus ... it's a 60-pack!! And it costed me less than $30!!! I had to have them. That's a steal of a freakin' deal!! I'm using them right now for the drawing I'm drawing my boyfriend. And let me tell you ... it is looking really really really really good!! I think it's going to be one of my favourites!!

I really like that drawing that I posted above. I'm not the only one! Some people already put it on their favourite list on DA hee hee. I was so excited because my artwork is still developing and I want to get really really good so having a few people recognize my work makes feel all bubbly inside. Yay!! My bf loves it too. I actually gave the original to him and he has it up on his shelf for good luck. I'm drawing him another picture too. It's still in progresss and it's looking good! I like it! I know he's going to love it because it's a magic woman with the top hat, wand and playing cards all around her. *wink* I like it!

Still need to practice on my new colour pencils though. I got the new watercolor pencils. Still need work on how to use them properly rather than just guessing where to blend the colors in. I bought a colourless blender pen too but I'm not too sure how to that properly. One of the ends is already pretty frayed out and I'm sure it's not supposed to be like that already. I think I'd rather go for some paintbrushes instead and just practice so that I can make some pretty crazy artwork. Next up ... my inktense pencils!! They look soooo nice!! One of these days I'll take a picture of all my supplies .. (hopefully when I get my markers!)

No new drawing posting today. Well I do have a new drawing that I scanned but I'm having issues with my stupid internet. I really liked the drawing too and was excited to post it up on DA but stupid internet is not working. Grrr. I'm giving the drawing to my bf though because he really liked it and wants it to put on his binder. Hee hee!

No worries ... I'll post something up tomorrow because I plan on staying home tomorrow. Mondays are a bitch for me and I want to relax because I get stressed out every Monday at work.

I WANT MY MARKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found them at OFFICE DEPOT and I think they are cheaper there than at Michaels!! I'm saving up for them ... The 48-set is $126 while the 120-set is about $145. I say go for the 120-set for about $20 more! Why not?! I really really really really really really really really really want them!!! Been dreaming about them! Can't believe I'm willing to spend that much money on markers. And normally I won't spend my money on anything!!

That will be my last big purchase though ... why? Because ... I'M GOING TO VEGAS!!!!!!!! YEAH BABY!! I'm going in November with my bf and other people. I'm so excited! I'm going to try my hardest to save at least $2000 so that I have crazy spending money. My bf wants to go to have a crazy Criss Angel experience while I just want to relax, have fun, have a few margaritas, do some shopping ... OMG I'm excited!!!

Sorry back to my thought of ... "I WANT MY MARKERS!!!" I was thinking if I don't have them before my birthday ... Maybe for a birthday present everyone can pitch in to get them for me!! Or each person can give me gift cards to either office depot or michaels and I can just splurge on art supplies for my birthday!! HOLY SHIT THAT WOULD BE WICKED!!!!! Wow ... I'm getting too excited now ... hopefully I can sleep when I get off the computer ...

I GOT MY SCANNER!! Yay!! My boyfriend found one for me for a really really good price and we went out today and got it!! Yay!! It's pretty and thin haha. It took forever for it to work though because my computer wouldn't read that I had a scanner plugged in even though I already installed the drivers and the program it came with. Turned out that the driver wasn't up to date so I had to search all over the internet on how people fixed it and where to download drivers. I found the driver at the actual Canon site (it's a CanoScan LiDE 30) but it took me about 3 tries with 3 different drivers to finally find one that worked. I don't think I've ever restarted my computer so many times. It really was starting to piss me the fuck off. I honestly thought I got jipped for a moment but once it started working ... YAY!! I was happy and went scanning-happy haha. I scanned like 6 of my drawings and 2 of them I posted it up here but the rest are on my DEVIANTART. I'm crossing off a lot of things off my wishlist!!

So ... those are my first attempts at utilizing my wonderful Wacom Tablet along with Photoshop 7.0. Yeah ... not too happy with the results. It's frustrating me because I love this thing. I am soooo freakin' in love with my tablet but I still can't do what I want to be able to achieve with it in terms of artistry. I guess I'm just not very damn patient with the thing. It does take practice. I just seriously need some time to just sit in front of my computer and just practice practice practice. PRACTICE. I really really want to make such good stuff with my tablet!!!!! Argh!!!!!

No worries. I'll get it.

Somewhat of good news though ... I might get a pretty nice scanner for a cheap price! *crossed fingers*

I miss going to school.

I need more money.

The rainy, dark weather is really bumming me out.

8th-Jan-2008 11:03 pm - Magic Presentation of Wacom

Not too sure how to start my story of how I now possess a kick ass Wacom Bamboo Fun Drawing Tablet!

First things first ... I am dating Criss Angel. No. Not the ACTUAL Criss Angel (I don't know if that would be funny or weird or what haha) but a Criss Angel in the making I would like to call it. My bf has been practicing some magic for a good while now and he's done some pretty crazy shit if I say so bluntly. For example, making an unopened pop can empty and the opposite of that, an empty popcan closed and full. He's levitated a variety of objects, put a cellphone/coins through closed bottles, various crazy card tricks, making objects appear in strange places, etc, etc. He's pretty damn good.

My bf wanted to go to FutureShop to buy a video game and I was up for it. I'm always up for wanting to go out and have some fun. Sadly, the game he wanted wasn't there but he asked if we could just take a look if they have my drawing tablets because he was looking to get one for me before. We found them and I was just eyeing them because I have been wanting one for so long. "You like that one?" he asks me. I nodded. He asks me again and has this certain smile he has whenever he's doing something clever. "Watch this, just watch this," he says and hovers his hands over the wacom box and moves his hands around (imagine a magician moving his hands around as if he's going to do somthing) and then he taps the box. And ... that was it. Didn't know what to make of it. Had a slight feeling it was something to do with his "magic" since that's all he's been doing and talking about lately but I didn't really buy it.

After we were all done at Futureshop, we headed over to my car and my bf stopped and started hovering his hands over my car again like he did with the box at the store. "Open your trunk babe, check it out," he said. Slowly, I opened it and guess what was inside? The Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet Box. I was shocked. I didn't know what to say. I couldn't even think of saying "thank you" because I didn't know what to make it of it. Seriously. I started believing that he actually made that box appear magically in my car then I started feeling criminal-like and I said, "We have to take that back now!". I was shocked. Yes, I was.

We went back to his house and he made me explain the whole thing to his sister which I was a little shy of because I didn't even really know how to explain the whole thing. So he pulled the ultimate magic trick so far. LOL. Then he comes to me, gives me a quick kiss and says, "So if anything is wrong with it ... here's the receipt".

HAHAHAHA. What a sweetie. I have to say, he's pretty damn good with presentation. THANKS BABY!! I LOVE YOU!! Once I get the hang of it, I'll draw you a really really really nice picture!!

Another drawing that I was too busy and/or lazy to put up. I'm posting because I'm trying to kill some time as I am doing some late-night baking. Baking brownies! I may have some new obsession with baking. I started off easy ... the traditional homemade brownies and no ... it's not the ready-made stuff that come in boxes where all you have to do is mix the given powder mix. It's all from scratch baby! My first attempt in making brownies was yesterday and it turned out like ... CRAP. It was flat, hard, small and just plain crap. So, I decided to take the current recipe I have and tweak it a bit to make it better and ... I think it's going to be a whole lot better!! I can see it already through the oven window. It might be a little sweeter than normal though but at least the presentation looks better and not like square thin cookie-like pieces of crap I made yesterday. We'll see when they come out ... I'm pretty excited. If these turned out to my low satisfaction what's up next? Apple Crisp! Yup ... I love baking.

Was browsing a bit through Deviant Art and I have found myself a love for beautiful, creative, abstract VECTOR ART. This Beautiful Wallpaper vector style just completely inspired me to draw in this type of abstract style (already kinda started with "Caught In Beauty -- oh ... I haven't posted that one yet have I? --). Even more ... I want to achieve this type of vector style on the computer!!! I need to buy Illustrator (from what I read on most of the people who do this type of art)!!!!! I WANT IT!! But the damn program is so fucking expensive. Fuck. Every damn hobby costs so much money huh? I was thinking of getting my laptop first (whenever that will be ...) then I can get whatever I need for my laptop like ILLUSTRATOR CS!!!!!! *added to my wishlist* If I master this skill then for sure I would love to have a business in shirt print designs. It's starting to become a very very small dream of mine to have a clothing business where I can print most of my artwork and designs on clothes for people to wear. I know I would wear it since I'm already somewhat wearing very artsy patterns and such ... I wanna daydream now.

I do want a small business of my own someday you know. I've always wanted a small business in something to do with my creativity and artsiness and prints has always been something I have wanted to do. I just need to draw and master my designs more. I also need a name and a logo of some sort lol. Look at me ... thinking this is going to happen haha! Hey ... you never know ...

Alright, 'til next time folks!

There you go. Just a little longer than expected. It seems that whenever a task has to be done, something always gets in the way ... like my parents losing the camera for a good couple of days so I couldn't snap any pictures of my drawings. Actually it's just sad that I have to snap pictures of my drawings rather than being the high tech artsy geek who owns a scanner. A struggling artist I am haha. Thank goodness for photoshop. I spend quite some time rotating the images just so it wouldn't look so awkward because I couldn't take the picture straight.

Boxing Day would have been a good time to get a scanner but Christmas has pretty much sucked the funding out of me. I don't know how people can still afford to do all that shopping after the holidays. I don't know how some people could wake up in the wee hours of the morning to start lining up at a store for non-existant, brainwashed "deals" ready with their deadly elbows and keychain, sharp-ready weapons to fight off anyone else who dare takes the last stack of blank dvds or the last size of a $30 shirt (that's already with the $5 off deal!); Or waiting an hour and a half for a parking spot and further feeding the fuming road rage when someone else stupidly drives in the spot you were signalling for. There goes another hour of your precious shopping time arguing with some random person with the same shopping goal as you possibly leading to some kind of public distubance (among other numerous parking-lot related disturbances that is probably 3 or 4 cars away from yours).

Boxing Day could be made on purpose to have that one last day of frustration for psycho people who like the holiday stress since they won't have it for another year and are in denial that the holidays are pretty much over. Or ... could be made just to completely suck every last penny of your pocket so that the businesses can have one last chance to rack up their stats on how well their business did before the year ends. Or ... it could just be pure entertainment of watching shopping fanatics frantically running around, getting themselves into fights over a piece of cloth that (only if they had the talent) they could make themselves just because it's on sale (a sale that they could probably find on their own normal non-boxing-day day). The only disappointment is not being able to see the regrets on their faces when they get home and say to themselves, "What in the hell was I thinking when I bought this?!" Haha. Boxing Day ... it's a riot. There are SOME good sales though ... don't get me wrong. I just don't know why it has to be that crazy.
